Butler County announces a Job Opening for the position of Certified EMA Director.  Applications will be taken in the Butler County Commission Office through 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2017

Qualifications & Requirements:

Must have 2 years college level education

Must have 3 years work experience in emergency response & emergency management

Must have completed 200 hours of course work in emergency management as established by the Director of AEMA

Must have a valid Alabama Drivers License

If hired as Butler County EMA Director, you must reside in Butler County, Alabama

Butler County is seeking individuals interested in serving on the Mental Health Board.  This board appointment is not a paid position on the board.  It is a voluntary type appointment.  Please do not apply for this position if you cannot attend the board meetings.  The board term is for 6 years.  The board meets at the South Central Alabama Mental Health Center in Andalusia once a month on the 4th Thursday in the month at 11:30 a.m.  The meeting lasts anywhere from 1 to 1 1/2 hours. The members are served lunch. 

Butler County is seeking individuals interested in serving on the OCAP Board.  This board appointment is not a paid position.  It is a voluntary type appointment.  Please do not apply for this position if you cannot attend the board meetings.  The board meets in Troy, Alabama on the 3rd Thursday at 6 P.M.  of the following months Feb, July, Oct and Dec.

ROAD CLOSURES

Tulip Road
Tulip Road will be impassable to traffic for an estimated 6 month period due to bridge repairs being performed.  The point of closure is 1.8 miles north of CR30 and 1.2 miles south of CR22.  Detours will be CR 30, US 31, CR 22 and AL 185.

Whittle Bridge Road
Whittle Bridge Road will be impassable to traffic for an estimated 6 month period due to bridge repairs being performed.  The point of closure is 1.2 miles east of CR45 and 2.2 miles west of CR59.
